That credit song alone warrants five stars, honestly, but I love just about everything else about this, even if it's rough around the edges. Bonus points for the Tumblr joke, lots of stuff to find when you pause and look around!

I'd love to see this fully animated, honestly! The storyboards already look really good, and I love the design of the little merchant guy, gives me midget Aku vibes for some reason. I do feel like just having the pedestrians slide across the street is weird looking, but this IS an animatic, and not everything can be as detailed as the focus. It just felt jarring after watching the main character dude do a storyboarded walk into that beat-up store.
I liked this quite a bit, though, nice job!

The art style looks really distinctive, and the background's real well made! I really appreciate that picture of Barbatos in the background there. You can tell this chick's a real robot nerd, probably marathoned Pacific Rim loads of times! The lighting making the room all black and white before it goes back to normal is also a really cool visual.
If I had to name some flaws, I'd say that the sound could be better. The sparkly sound when the girl gets a eureka ends a little too abruptly before she starts doing the scientist laugh. Also, the gesture she does with her left hand when the loop restarts is odd. I think it'd be better if she tried to do that type of gesture with the robotic hand, before it starts sparking up and she has to repeat it again, getting way too ahead of herself. I'm no authority on what artists are allowed to do at all, though, just a suggestion!
I think this loop alone is a really intriguing premise, and I'd love to see it expand into something bigger. I could see that girl carting around her mecha plans all around town, trying to make a name for herself, or the total opposite, like a Dexter's Lab scenario. Either way, I'd love to see more!

Thank you, very well thought out review which i really respect. So first off thank you.
Again, thanks for the kind words, appreciate that, sound design i'll make sure to keep more in mind in future, i think my computer just starts to slow down too much when i edit sound on it so there were parts i had to skim over...
But the hand's starting point is fair, i wasn't thinking that far ahead when i animated this.

Glad you like it though, i might try and animate her again later this year, but that is what i have in mind for the character, quite literally a mixture of the two you said. A typical out of touch teenager dealing with her problems by creating giant mechs, trashing her problems and then dealing with her smashed problems.

Thanks for the review!

40+ minutes worth of nutting, and the wait was worth it!
I liked a lot of the submissions in the collab, but SoftDon's, Nevarky's, and gr8tree's were the standouts for me. Also enjoyed Andobiki's and 3DRod's a whole lot, there's way too many favorites to name here! Gotta give it to you guys how well-made this was. Can't wait to pass the retard test and see the interactive menu!
I stuck around after the credits, too. While a lot of people probably found it disrespectful, I just found it funny. I'm glad Rina and Kirbo aren't absolutely tethered to Brawl Taunts anymore, and I've got the triple gay now!
This entire collab SCREAMS Newgrounds, and that's some screaming I don't mind listening to. You guys did a great job!

I'm several months late, I don't think I have the words to describe how much I love this, but I'm gonna try, dammit!
Just looking at the animated parts of this trailer made me excited about the other cops, and what they're gonna be like. I don't think there's much info on Jason (besides his tight ass wings), but he's the most interesting so far to me. Speaking of characters, it's really neat that they're all different in gameplay style, instead of just being the same cop with a different design, like how Jason looks as if he's got an extra advantage in jumping, and Chris looks speedier compared to the large sack of bricks that is Stan.
Gameplay looks like it'd be a blast to play in just about any setting, alone or with some friends! Especially in the realm of couch co-op. I'm not sure if it's on purpose or not, but a lot of these games made by Newgrounds-based blood that're put up on consoles feel like they were just made for couch co-op with some buds. Or family, if you've got cool family members. I had a blast playing through Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers with friends some years back, and I can see it happening again with Nightmare Cops.
Just as a little side note before the please-take-my-money conclusion, that "Made by Newgrounds" logo at the end made me smile like a dopey garden gnome. You guys really know to get a community hyped about something!
Good luck on this, can't wait to play it when it comes out, oh, and by the way, take my money!

I can't believe I didn't watch this earlier. Goddamn, dude, this is perfect! I love how flexible the art style is, and how fluid the animation is in every single aspect. It's so batshit, in a good way; even the live-action Valhalla god didn't feel out of place. There's a ton of little details, especially in the effects of the fire and smoke, compliments the art style perfectly. It's so perfectly gory and absurd, like a fusion of that barbarian trend in the 80s and a batshit horror film, along the lines of Evil Dead. That's a damn good combination.
I'd watch an entire series of Flex Calibur just fucking about and journeying to Valhalla, I'm blown away by all of this. Some real good shit, I love it!

The animation quality and art style are really good, don't get me wrong, but I don't understand why this short loop with nothing going on in it besides a titty bouncing has a daily feature, in first place no less. You could've easily posted this in the art section, the music doesn't add too much here.
Not to shit on you at all, man, I think it looks great. Like I said, art looks awesome, I'm just not sure why this is in the first place for daily feature when there's not that much going on, besides the obvious.
I hope to see what else you've got in store, dude!

This is incredible.
It's made to look bad and shitty on purpose (like an ode to ancient newgrounds shitposts), but it's still hilarious.

Happy Robot Day! This is one of my favorite days as well. There's limitless potential with robots.
Onto the review.
I love the gentleman robot's design. The metallic mustache, the monocle, the bow tie- even the tux. It's everything you brew up in your mind of when you think "rich gentleman", except maybe with a top hat added on. The voice fit him like a glove.
The little candlelight looks nice. It's not stationary, but it's not exaggerated, wildly moving around like it's about to spill all over the table and light it on fire. It's exactly how a real candlelight would look. For a two week project, that's something I would expect someone to not spot, no matter their level of skill.
If I had any suggestions at all, it would've been to put oil in the drinking glasses, just as a little detail.
This is a well done first attempt, congrats on the frontpage!

WooleyWorld responds:

We were going to try to put liquid in the glasses but I only had like one night left and had to start rendering so fuuuuckkk it.
Lol. Glad you liked it. Thanks for the review.

This is the cutest Mom's Day animation I've seen in a while. The visuals, the sound effects, and the music really came together.
How did your mom respond to this?

antdung responds:

Thanks a lot! She cried (happy tears ^_^) and said she loved it.

Nice to have ya.
