Have you finally chosen to accept Jon Jafari as your lord and savior?

This is a really good animation. A lot of easter eggs to find and enjoy, and the entire thing had me thinking I was watching an actual movie trailer. If this came out in theaters, I'd probably watch it.
I dug the art style, too. Suited the Grumps very well.
Nice job, all around.

Dang, that was really sad. But funny. I mean, dude, domestic abuse is no laughing matter, but this made me chuckle more than once. Being able to write about (and maybe laugh) at your own childhood, even if it was pretty darn fucked, and putting it in a comic to publicly share with the rest of the world. It's hard to do that, it's definitely hard for me. Still can't do it. Gotta commend you for being able to do that in the first place, considering the internet's abundance of assholes even to this day. This comic is around 14 years old as I'm editing this review (original one was a goddamn mess), and I still get that "Damn, dude." feeling whenever I read it again. Sometimes it really hits close to home, especially with the shitty father figures and the dead bird as the representation of self hatred.
Considering how awful a lot of your family was, I'm really glad you've surpassed people like your father and his wife, and now you're here, wowing us with your games. Stay gold, Edmund.

Wow.
Like a few people might have said (and will say, since my review's a little early; only three hours in), the animation for this was a bit worrying. It was alright at first, but I worried about the writing quality a bit.
My worries were completely proven wrong in every aspect.
The animation quality improved IMMENSELY through the course of this; i'd enjoy it either way, but it's a definitive plus here.
I adored the dialogue writing in this, and after the eleven minutes were done with, I wanted more.
This really was great, dude. Keep up the darn good work you're doin'. It's definitely not easy getting used to programs like fbf.

I accidentally gave this a shitty score of 2 on the rating scale because my mouse had the technological equivalent of a fart, so I need to make this one to even it out. I don't like leaving that kind of thing behind instead of fixing it, if it's a nice work. My apologies.
Now, for the actual review:
Like the episodes after this one, you accurately portray how the typical lion necked weeb acts in every day life; getting hard over a fictional holographic girl with toothpaste hair- in public. From my experience with people like our protagonist and his pal, this is almost terrifyingly accurate, except they might even be dressing up LIKE Hatsune Miku, and waving the leek lights they give out at the Vocaloid concerts like a madman. The only thing that could've made it better is if people in the crowd (actual japanese folk) noticed how the protagonist and his buddy were acting, and were giving them the death stare as a result, or backing away in disgust and they were fairly isolated, erections and all, from the crowd, eyes fixated on Miku. But the terrified look from the little girl is probably how i'd react, too.
Miku herself is a little stiff in the beginning with the animation, but gradually it improves in terms of fluidness. The line thickness clashes a bit with the colors, too.
Overall, humor was pretty darn nice (the bit at the end wrapped it up nicely), lines were a bit thick and some of the animation was somewhat stiff, but this WAS the first episode.
Good job, over all!

Every Madness Day, there's always those one or two, and sometimes three, animations that stand out from the rest.
From the rest of the of the cookie cutter plots and animations.
The ones that deviate from the typical Madness animation (not to say this is always a good thing no matter what; sometimes it works better with the same style), and are drawn frame by frame. The ones that look good even if they are hustled a bit, and rough around the edges; sometimes, it works better when it's got that sketch-like look to it.
The ones that absolutely deserve it's spot on 1st place, if it ends up getting it.
This was that animation for 2008, and it still looks like it owns that 1st place ribbon to this day.
This is about eight years late, but I don't care; congratulations have no expiration date.
Absolutely wonderful.

thanks so much for that review! I sincerely appreciate it, :)

They say, that the same day he fell down those stairs..
He ran over Oprah.

The banter about K-On! and Azumanga Daioh had me rolling, because you accurately portrayed about a quarter of anime discussion on the internet.
And Rei's deadpan, male text to speech voice.
And maybe a little of everything else.
I also love how the characters and the backgrounds contrast between one another. The characters distinguishable as a silhouette, which I always love in animation, web or no. The art style, also, was perfect for this kind of comedy. The protagonist looks like if John Kricfalusi and /a/ had a lovemaking session- and it's perfect. I'd enjoy the art even if it was a serious animation instead of a parody, it's real nice on the eyes.
This was a fantastic collab, and I hope to see more quality stuff come from all who participated! I'll certainly have a look at everyone else's work in the credits. I'd advise everyone else to do the same; give these people some recognition.

I know a lot of people are telling ya that the singing is earrape. In my opinion, I think that the earrape half makes it all the more funnier. It's got that old Newgrounds feel.
It wouldn't be bad if you got a better mic for future stuff, though.
If you do more entries into the Bro collection, I'll be sure to check them out as soon as possible. Keep up the good work, do your best to improve in any areas you can!

Part 4's looking great.

This is my absolute favorite Pico Day animation, without a doubt. Out of almost hundreds of animations from the past nine years of Pico Day (time really does fly when you have fun). It's so hopeful and dreaming, but it reminds everyone what the website needs to improve on.
It doesn't just convey the message that Golden Age Newgrounds was better, which I already agree with.
It conveys the message "Yeah, the Golden Age of Newgrounds was stellar and full of fantastic stuff. But that doesn't mean you should undermine the new guys. Give them a chance. Let them grow and develop. We might just have our next golden age with these folks."
About that bit with the parodies, I completely agree. They're the easiest, most shameless way to get views on here and it doesn't encourage original content. Half the time they're recycled jokes we've heard the past 50 times from an Egoraptor animation and everyone thought it'd be best to recycle them instead of making new jokes, so I completely agree with everyone else here.
But, to be perfectly honest, I don't think everything started crashing down in 2013. It started in 2012.
Think about it; Edd Gould's death left everyone on the site feeling pretty crappy, the KONY 2012 shit, and the memes. The horrible, horrible memes. It was a bad year for the internet in general, and that included Newgrounds. Things have gotten better in 2015, but we've got a bit to go before it gets REALLY good. And as I'm editing this years later to be more coherent (2018 here, hi!), it looks like it did get good.
All that aside, this is an excellent tribute to Pico, and Newgrounds as a whole. You've heard this loads of times, but I find it even better that you got Tom Fulp to voice in this.
And yes, I want Frogman to tap feet with the finest characters of Newgrounds.

I feel so bad for not being able to respond to this review immediately. It's great that you found this and decided to review it.

Thank you for the great review, and I'm glad you were able to see and agree with the message. I really did put a lot of time and thought into this and I'm glad it shows and people can appreciate it. The fact that you would consider this your absolute favorite Pico Day animation really means a lot to me. And yeah, hopefully one day FrogMan will be among the Newgrounds greats ;3

And yeah, the stuff definitely started before 2013. 2012 does seem like a meme-filled year now that i think about it, heh.

I agree with everything you've had to say and I'm still amazed that this is still getting reviews. And yeah, I just HAD to get Tom Fulp to have a cameo in this. It wouldn't be my ultimate tribute to Newgrounds without it ;3

Again, thank you for the wonderful review!

Nice to have ya.
